I'm not sure that I have much to say, but I'm a huge Indie Rock guy, so I'll probably talk about new records and old favorites. Maybe some random stuff too

It’s been a while, but I had to get a post up for an old Heatmiser song. Heatmiser is the original home of the other-worldly talented Elliott Smith, this song is probably one of the best songs from the 90’s that almost nobody knows.
The song today is JJ - Still. I’m torn on how to approach this entire album by JJ. I’ve absolutely loved the first 2 JJ albums, but this one is such a different approach for them. I’m not on board with all of the hype for bands like Girl Talk that do nothing but sample. This album is built around sampling, but JJ layers their own styles on top of the samples. It puts the artists own originality and touch to the songs, and makes the songs more their own. I can’t listen to Girl Talk without thinking that none of this is his own. It’s creative, just not the type of creative I look for. Anyway, give this song a listen and check out the rest of JJ’s stuff.
I usually do this as a Random song, but today it’s just a song. It played in my car this morning on Random, but I’ve played it 3 more times since. It’s a little band named ‘Oh No Oh My’s song I Love You All The Time. I’m not sure why I love this song so much, but it’s just perfect. If someone today told me that I could only listen to 10 songs for the rest of my life, this would definitely be among them.
Well, I haven’t written in a while, but I thought I’d do my favorite albums of 2010. Here we go……
Cornershop - The Roll Off Characteristics
My favourite thing about Cornershop is that every song is so creative and different from the last. Just a fun band to listen to.
Los Campesinos - Death to Los Campesinos
I’m a huge fan of Los Campesinos, and while this is certainly not my favourite song, it’s definitely a solid tune. I love the energy and fun these guys bring to their music. It’s too bad that with all of the people leaving and entering the band, that I’m not sure their music will ever be the same
LCD Soundsystem - Home
I’m not quite sure how they (he) manages to do it, but everything LCD Soundsystem touches turns to gold. Album after album, track after track of brilliance.
Gonjasufi - She Gone
I’m not sure how I would go about describing Gonjasufi to someone. Unique is the best explanation I can come up with. Definitely worth a listen if you like something different.
